Input measurements in metric

Choose your preferred unit of measurement for quoting, and quickly convert values from metric to imperial or vice versa.

Does your shop typically quote in metric units, or do you have buyers sending you data in both imperial and metric?

With this release, there are a few ways you can now enter that information into Paperless Parts without needing to manually convert or perform calculations outside of the platform.

With the new “Unit preferences” setting, choose your shop’s default unit of measure – either metric or imperial. This will update the primary units you work with in places like geometric attributes, the part viewer, and multi-component nesting. While measurements on the finalized quote are always presented in both metric and imperial, we’ll also prioritize whichever unit of measurement is set as your default.

If you typically quote in one set of units but sometimes need to enter information in another, use the “Swap units” button to change the units in a particular window or area of the app. Alternatively, you can also type units directly into the input; when you click away, we’ll perform the conversion for you.
