Paperless Parts Appoints Experienced Operators to its Board of Directors and Board of Advisors as the Company Continues to Scale

New Board Members bring diversified leadership, vertical-SaaS expertise, and deep operational experience to accelerate Paperless Parts’ growth

Boston – July 14, 2022 –Paperless Parts, the leading estimating and quoting software for job shops and contract manufacturers, today announced the addition of two members to its Board of Directors, Jim Baum and Ross Beistman, as well as an addition to its Board of Advisors, Christina Luconi. These appointments add senior leaders to the board with a combination of operational excellence and experience building vertical SaaS businesses, sitting on professional boards, and building the right teams and culture to scale.

Jim Baum primarily works as an independent board member serving growth-stage B2B SaaS companies after a decades long career as an operating executive. Jim was an early employee of PTC where he helped grow that business from $10M to over $1B in revenue serving in various leadership roles across the organization. Here, he developed a deep understanding of the manufacturing life cycle and how software can help streamline and transform the modern manufacturing value chain. After PTC, Jim led Endeca’s early rise from tiny startup to the leading provider of innovative information access and delivery software solutions and then served as President and CEO of Netezza where he drove the nearly $2B acquisition of Netezza by IBM. He has also served as CEO of Symbotic (NASDAQ:SYM), a highly disruptive supply chain automation company, Chairman of Dyn, and currently serves on the boards of DataStax, NS1, Saltmine, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

“The American manufacturing industry is on the precipice of a massive generational shift. New shop owners and operators are more digitally savvy than their predecessors, yet the software industry as a whole has failed to deliver products and services that empower them to quote faster, win new business, and drive down operating costs. Paperless Parts is changing that,” said Baum.

Ross Biestman is currently the Chief Revenue Officer for ServiceTitan, a vertical SaaS Platform used by more than 100,000 field services workers, such as HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians. He has previously served in sales leadership roles for Lithium Technologies and Adobe, and works with venture capitalists Bessemer Venture Partners and Index Ventures coaching their portfolio companies on scaling GTM operations.

“I joined ServiceTitan because I recognized a clear market need that wasn’t being met by traditional industry-agnostic software solutions. Paperless Parts is another one of those opportunities,” said Biestman. “Today’s manufacturers are still running their businesses in largely analog ways, without the tools and platforms specifically designed to meet their needs. Paperless’ platform has the specific needs of job shop owners and estimators at the very heart of its design and enables the hard working women and men of this industry to achieve the business success they deserve.”

Christina Luconi is the Chief People Officer at Rapid7 and brings over 15 years of experience recruiting stellar talent for hyper-growth companies, fostering a positive workplace culture and “scaling with soul.” Prior to joining Rapid7, Christina was the founder of People Innovations, a consulting firm focused on the creation of innovative people strategies, and she has held leadership positions at Sapient Corporation and @stake, a professional services security firm which she helped build from the launch through its acquisition to Symnatec. She also serves as an advisor to the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, serves as a board member BUILD, and is the Vice Chair of Hack.Diversity.

“Anyone who has met a member of the Paperless Parts teams knows that to them, Paperless Parts is more than a software platform; they come to work every day on a mission to help fuel American manufacturing by offering cutting edge products that are simple to use and transformative in impact. I’m excited to help the team continue to grow in a way that keeps that passion and customer-centricity at the core of everything they do,” said Luconi.

Paperless Parts has grown rapidly, increasing its customer base 107% year over year. The company has increased its team to over 100, serving hundreds of customers in the United States. With the expertise these board members bring scaling technology and vertical SaaS companies to maturity, Paperless Parts is best positioned to carry out its mission to help job shops and contract manufacturers win.

“I’m blown away by the level of talent our new Board members bring to the table, and that they believe as passionately as I do – that we all do – in the mission of Paperless Parts,” said Jason Ray, CEO, Paperless Parts. “Like any hyper growth company, we recognize that there will be growing pains, but with mentors and advisors like Jim, Ross, and Christina in our corner, I’m confident that Paperless will continue to exceed expectations.”
