Fabcor Metal Fabricators, Inc. Scales Operations with New Quoting Technology to Meet Growing Demand

Third-generation leadership adds new capabilities, machinery, and 45,000-square-feet of manufacturing space; invests in quoting software Paperless Parts to take on more work and scale to production-level operation.

Minster, OHFabcor, a family-owned and operated metal fabrication company now in its 40th year, has partnered with Paperless Parts, the manufacturing industry’s leading quoting and estimating platform. Streamlining the quoting process is a key part of Fabcor’s strategy to take on more work, fully utilize its expanded capacity, and sustain its impressive growth trajectory.

Fabcor has grown its revenue by over 300% in the last five years, and third-generation leader, Vice President Jacob Hoying, recognized the need for a highly scalable quoting solution. Being able to quickly generate quotes and move parts into production is a competitive advantage given the metal fabrication industry’s tight lead times.

Fabcor’s quoting process was once manual and reliant on Hoying’s father, who has since retired. “Quoting was often an all-day, all-night process,” says Hoying. “With Paperless Parts, I’m able to spend ten minutes quoting something that would’ve previously taken me hours. More complex quotes are getting done in half the time. It’s completely changed the dynamic of our team and allows us to take on more work without adding administrative overhead.”

Fabcor has made substantial investments to expand capacity. They recently purchased all-new TRUMPF equipment, including two new press brakes ranging up to 350 tons of bending force, 10kW and 12kW fiber flat lasers, and a tube laser. Additionally, they’ve added a Flex CNC machining center, a TRUMPF robotic weld cell, and implemented its own powder coating batch system. Fabcor is now preparing for a 45,000-square-foot expansion—which will house another tube laser, additional manufacturing space for in-process production, as well as raw materials and stored goods—bringing its total manufacturing space to 137,000 square feet.

“We have the space, the capacity, and the technology to handle high-volume production work in a way we never could before,” continued Hoying. “We’re running one shift right now, but we have the ability to double or even triple our output as demand increases. We want to partner with companies that have the same growth mindset that can assist us in getting to the next level.”

“Our mission at Paperless Parts is to help manufacturers like Fabcor compete at the highest level,” says Paperless Parts Co-Founder & CEO Jason Ray. “By eliminating inefficiencies in the quoting process, Fabcor can focus on what they do best—delivering high-quality parts exceptionally fast. We’re excited to partner with the next generation of leadership at Fabcor as they scale the company to new heights.”
