The Opportunity

At Paperless Parts, our development pods are data-driven and outcome-focused; they are built around specific short-term and long-term user goals. This allows our teams to wholly own the success of our customers. As a backend software engineer for your pod, you will be collaborating with your teammates, which include designers and product managers, to build full end to end features. You will also work with other backend engineers to improve the tooling and infrastructure for our tech stack.

The Paperless Parts office is located in Boston, MA. Next to the North Station transit area, our office is easily accessible via public transportation. Additionally, we are a company committed to offering our people flexibility with regards to where they want to work. This means that if you
are more comfortable working remotely, then that option is available to you.

Who You Are

You’re an individual with a high attention to detail. You care about the quality of your work because you know how it impacts our customers. You understand what it takes to build a robust and scalable service and can help us work towards such a vision. You’ve worked within an agile environment before and know how to collaborate with your team in an iterative fashion to achieve team goals. Some of your experiences might include:

  • Experience with a modern web application stack (e.g. Python/Django, Node/Express, Java/Spring)
  • Python experience is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity working with Docker and its associated tooling
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins)
  • SQL and relational database experience

This is a full-time position based in Boston, MA. We have a hybrid working model and provide our team with the tools to succeed from home as well as in our office.
